Students can register for classes, check or edit their student records, and view financial aid information, among other things, through the UGA Athena web portal.

The University of Georgia’s staff and students can access a variety of services through the UGA Athena Student Portal, including course registration, enrollment verification, faculty class rosters, academic information about the students, student financial aid, and student account services.

UGA Athena Login: Purpose Of UGA Athena
Through the UGA Athena Portal, students can schedule classes, check registration holds, examine test results, update contact information and addresses, and browse schedules.
UGA Athena Login: How To Access UGA Athena
• Go straight to http://athena.uga.edu/ to access UGA Athena.
• As an alternative, go to the MyUGA Portal and select the Athena emblem.
UGA Athena Course Registration
• Go to http://athena.uga.edu/ to access the UGA Athena online course registration portal.
• Next, select the Login To Athena option.
• You can go straight to the UGA Athena Course Registration portal at https://sso.uga.edu/cas/login.
• Next, provide your Student ID, Password, and Pin.
• After that, to enter the UGA Student Portal, click the “Login” option.

UGA Athena Student Registration
• On the home page, click the Student tile to start the registration process on UGA Athena.
• The landing page for Student Services will then appear.
• To access the Registration homepage page, choose Registration from the Student & Registration area.

UGA Athena Login: UGA Athena Prepare for Registration
• The Prepare for Registration page lists crucial details, like time tickets, academic standing, registration holds, and approved overrides, that you should be aware of before registering.
• Obtain any necessary overrides, record your time ticket, and release any holds preventing you from registering.
• If you see a green bar with no holds, it indicates that you are free to register; if you see a red bar with the text “You have holds which prevent registration,” it indicates that you need to release holds.
UGA Athena Login: UGA Athena Plan Ahead
• Before registering for classes, students can use the Plan Ahead feature to arrange their timetables. When registration opens, students can attempt to register for the courses in the plan with a single click.
• Select Create a New Plan after selecting Plan Ahead. Look for the classes that need to be on the plan, then add the section (ex. CRN 12345) or the course (ex. ENGL 1101). When the plan is finished, click Save Plan in the bottom right corner.
Students are permitted to develop up to five plans per semester, which let them arrange different class combinations.
• The plan need to serve as a reference. The plan is subject to modify before or during registration. You can sign up for some or all of the plan’s classes.
• Select the plan by clicking on the Plans option on the Register for Classes page. Select the Add button next to each course or the Add button beside all courses. Click Submit in the Summary box located in the lower right corner.
• Even if the class is included in your package, a spot is not guaranteed.
It is not necessary to check for registration errors to add a class to a plan. When the plan is submitted for registration, registration errors will be visible.
• You can create a plan at a meeting with your advisor; but, advisors are unable to establish plans for students.
UGA Athena Login: UGA Athena View Registration Information
• In addition to current registration, previous schedules can be viewed on the View Registration page.
• To finish the registration process, students must add classes to the Summary tile and then submit the classes. It’s possible that the courses were only put in the Summary tile and that the option to submit was not chosen.

UGA Athena Login: UGA Athena Registers for Classes
• Students can search for classes, add classes to their calendar, register for plans, and view their schedule on the Register for Classes page.
• Locate and click Schedule Details in the lower left corner of the Register for Classes page. There you will see the class’s waiting position.
Once you have registered for a variable-hours class, select the Schedule & Options tab. Every class that has been registered will be visible. Hours for classes with changeable schedules will be displayed as a link. To modify the hours, click the link.
• To proceed, click the X in the top right corner.
• By using the arrow keys, you can reposition the panels on the page.
• Try disabling Firefox’s autofill feature. To access Preferences, click the Firefox menu icon. Choose Privacy & Security next. Uncheck Autofill Addresses under Forms & Autofill. Your settings will be automatically saved by the system.

• To locate the class segment you wish to register for or add to your plan, use Browse Classes.

UGA Athena Profile Photos
• Your picture appears on the Grade Rolls, Class Lists, Advising Student Profile, and Student Profile.
• The picture that appears in Athena is the one that the UGA OneCard Office acquired. You must request a new card from the UGA OneCard Office to modify your photo.
• It can take up to a week for Athena to show newly uploaded photographs.
• There won’t be a photo in Athena if you don’t have a UGA OneCard. Get in touch with the UGA OneCard Office for additional details.
UGA Athena Login: UGA Athena View Grades
• From the Athena home screen, choose the Student tile. Next, under the Student & Registration area of the Student Services main page, choose View Grades. You can access the Student Grades page by clicking the View Grades link.
• According to the Academic Calendar, grades will appear in Athena the day after they are due for a semester.
• The Student Grades page allows you to view courses and grades for either the current term or past terms.
• Use the View Grades page to identify the class in order to obtain the name of the instructor from a prior semester. A pop-up window with the class details will appear when you click the CRN. To identify the instructor for the chosen CRN, click the Instructor/Meeting Times tab.

Unofficial Transcript
• Athena offers the option to print the unofficial transcript. Use your browser’s print option to accomplish this.

• To obtain an official transcript, visit the Office of the Registrar – Transcripts.
UGA Athena Login: UGA Athena Request Enrollment Verification
• To request an enrollment verification, visit the Registrar’s Office.
When requesting an enrollment verification, a student who wishes to attend another school temporarily should order a Transient Letter.
UGA Athena Login: View Status of Enrollment Verification Requests
Click View Status of Enrollment Verification Requests in the Transcript & Enrollment Verification section of the Student Services web page. From the dropdown menu, choose the ordered date. The enrollment verification has been sent, faxed, or is ready for pickup at the Registrar’s Office if the request includes a print date.

UGA Athena Login: Apply to Graduate
• From the dropdown menu on the Curriculum Selection screen, select the most recent term. In a later step, you will be asked to select the graduation date.
• When choosing an address, remember that diplomas are mailed six to eight weeks after commencement, so be sure the address will be occupied then.

UGA Athena Class List
• A class roster or roll is referred to as a “class list.” You may examine and download the list of students in your class by going to the class list.
• The list will only show classes that have students enrolled in them. Students will see the class once they have registered. Click Faculty, then Faculty Assignments or Faculty Detail Schedule to verify the specifics of the class.
• The Class List page allows you to email students, download and print the class list, and see the pictures of the students in the class along with enrollment statistics.
• To send an email to a single student, choose the checkbox next to their photo, then click the email icon.
• Select the checkbox at the top and then click the email icon to send an email to every student in the class.
• To use Athena’s email features, you must have a mail client installed on your computer. To configure your mail client, choose the Office 365 option. The only email address that is permitted to send emails using Athena’s capability is your official UGA email address. For assistance, please get in touch with the EITS Help Desk.
• Select the file format (.xls or.xlsx) after clicking Export at the top of the screen to download the class list. Your kids’ Excel spreadsheet will start downloading to your computer right away. You can watch the Class List Tutorial for further details.
• Click Print in the top right corner, select Print Preview, and then click Print to print your class list.
• Ad and popup blockers may make it difficult to see student images. You can either disable the pop-up/ad blocker, follow its instructions to “whitelist,” or let Athena choose not to use it.
• On the Class List, the student photo will have the word “Confidential” displayed at the bottom of it.
Grade Entry for UGA Faculty Athena
• You will find a list of your courses on the website for final grades. Select the class’s row by clicking on it. At the bottom of the screen are the students’ names, student ID numbers, and final grades.
• After deciding which course to grade, click in the Final Grade dropdown for a specific student, choose the grade that has to be submitted, finish scrolling to the bottom of the page, and press Save. A green “Save Successful” notification ought should appear in the top-right corner of the screen.
• Whether a given course is Not Started, In Progress, or Completed will be indicated in the Grading Status column. All of the students in the class have had their grades assigned and saved under the following categories: Green/Completed, Yellow/In Progress, Red/Not Started, and Yellow/Some grades entered but some missing.

• The Student Financial Aid Office, operating under U.S. The date of the last attendance is required by the U.S. Department of Education for each grade that is issued a F or U.
• When entering a grade of F or U, the Last Attend date must be entered.
• The student’s last date of attendance or academic engagement in the class is indicated by the Last Attend date. Academic engagement is defined by the U.S. Department of Education as more than just signing up for an online course or receiving academic advice.
UGA Athena Classes & Search for Courses
The Browse Course Catalog and Browse Classes sections allow professors and advisers to search for courses.

UGA Athena Login: UGA Athena Faculty Assignments
• All of the courses being taught this semester are displayed on the Assignments page. Click the Class List link for the specific class you’re interested in.
• Select the Assignment History tab at the top of the screen to view details for a previous course. There will be a list of previously taught classes displayed.
How To view faculty detail schedule
• Click the dropdown menu to choose a term from the Faculty Detail Schedule page. Next, select a course via the CRN dropdown menu. The course title, subject, and number, along with the CRN, will all be shown in the dropdown menu.
