Blinn – History ~ Myblinn Login
Blinn College, part of the Washington County Junior College District, is based in Brenham, Texas, and serves a 13-county service area with campuses in Bryan, Sealy, and Schulenburg.
The Mission Institution was established in 1883 by the Southern German Conference of the Methodist faith.
In 1889, the name was changed to Blinn Memorial College in honor of Reverend Christian Blinn of New York, who had contributed significantly to the school’s establishment.
The institution was formed with the intention of training young men for the ministry, but over time, academic courses were included to suit the desires of the public.
After five years of operation as a men-only institution, in 1888, Blinn College became coeducational.
Until 1927, the school was ranked as an academy. That year, the Board of Trustees, led by President Philip Deschner, established a junior college. The institution united with Southwestern University in 1930. (Georgetown, Texas). Brenham citizens obtained a new charter in 1934, and Blinn College, a private nonsectarian junior college, was established with nine regents serving as the board of the authority. All ties to Southwestern University and the Methodist denominations were broken in February 1937.
On June 8, 1937, a successful election was held in Washington County to create a public junior college district and to charge a minor tax. As a result, Blinn became Texas’ first county-owned junior college district.
After Allen Academy’s junior college program closed in 1970, Blinn opened a new facility in Bryan. Bryan and College Station programs were combined at the Bryan Campus on Villa Maria Road in 1997. Blinn’s Schulenburg Campus debuted in 1997, and its Sealy Campus was launched in 2005.
Blinn celebrated the grand launch of its new academic facilities at The Texas A&M University System’s RELLIS Campus in Bryan in August 2018. Blinn teaches freshman and sophomore-level courses at RELLIS, laying the groundwork for students to acquire a bachelor’s degree from a Texas A&M System university located in RELLIS, Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, Prairie View A&M University, Tarleton State University, West Texas A&M University, Texas A&M University-Texarkana, Texas A&M University-Kingsville, and Texas A&M University-Central Texas are among the institutions.
Blinn remains one of the state’s 50 public junior/community college systems, and it is one of the largest.

Tuition at MyBlinn College is charged by the hour
In addition to Blinn’s regular price of $75 per credit hour, the College’s tuition rate is determined by the students’ permanent residence:
- Students living in Washington County, Texas, pay an in-district tuition rate of $61 per credit hour;
- Texas residents living outside of Washington County pay an out-of-district tuition rate of $120 per credit hour; and
- Students living outside of Texas pay an out-of-state tuition rate of $277 per credit hour.

How can I create a MyBlinn email account?
MyBlinn College has partnered with Microsoft Office 365 for Education to provide future, present, and former Blinn students with e-mail accounts. On June 1, 2013, existing accounts were moved from Live@edu to Office 365.
When a student’s application is complete, an account is created for them.
- To get started, go to http://outlook.com/buc.blinn.edu or click the email icon in myBlinn.
- Your email is Firstname.LastnameLast2digitsBlinnID@buc.blinn.edu.
- Your username is as follows: Firstname.LastnameLast2digitsBlinnID (ex. ann.smith89)
- Your email and Office 365 passwords are the same as your Blinn password (myBlinn, eCampus, wireless, printing, etc.)
- Outlook and Mobile Devices – Select Exchange, Outlook, or ActiveSync as the account type, then enter your full email address as the Username and your Blinn password.

MyBlinn Bookstores
Barnes & Noble manages all Blinn bookstores, which have locations on most campuses as well as online. Each provides a diverse range of necessary textbooks in new, used, rental, and e-book formats. Furthermore, our bookshops sell a variety of study aids, materials, and Blinn-branded apparel and accessories.
Cash, major credit cards, and most forms of financial aid are accepted at all bookstores. Different parts of the same course may use different books, so bring your class schedule to the bookstore (or double-check your syllabus if shopping online) to ensure you have the right materials.
Textbooks should be ordered.
Students can order textbooks through their myBLINN account or by visiting the bookshops in Brenham and Bryan.
Blinn – Steps to Apply
It’s simple to get started with MyBlinn! We have an open admissions policy, and our objective is to serve the community by providing quality education to all children.
Submit an application to the MyBlinn College District.
All new and returning students who have not completed an entire Fall or Spring semester at Blinn must apply to the College District. Blinn makes use of the ApplyTexas application system, often known as the Texas Common Application. After creating an account, students should select the two-year application, then Blinn College.
Paper applications are no longer accepted by Blinn. All applicants must submit an application through ApplyTexas.
MyBlinn advises all current and former members of the United States Armed Forces to consult with their individual military branch’s Educational Services Officer (ESO) or counselor before enrolling in any institution of higher education.
Submit all required documentation.
Blinn is an open-enrollment university. After submitting the relevant admissions documents, the majority of students will be admitted and able to register for classes.
International students must meet additional admissions standards and adhere to stricter deadlines.
GED Scores or Transcripts
Students must provide a completed, official copy of their high school transcript or GED scores, as well as transcripts from any previous college/university attended. Emailed copies of high school transcripts provided directly from the high school to admissions@blinn.edu will be accepted. Blinn College does not accept emailed high school or college transcripts from students or parents.
The SPEEDE system allows most Texas colleges and universities to send transcripts electronically. Unless otherwise specified, all college/university transcripts should be provided by SPEEDE. Official college/university transcripts emailed to admissions@blinn.edu will take more time to process. Transcripts should be mailed to:

Vaccination for Bacterial Meningitis
All students under the age of 22 who are enrolled in studies at a higher education institution must provide proof that they have been immunized against bacterial meningitis.
Proof of Residency During the application process, students may be asked to provide proof of residency.
Pre-Requisite Courses in Progress Another Educational Institution
The required pre-requisite course is now being taught at another university.
Students must provide a PDF copy of their unofficial transcript showing the appropriate pre-requisite listed as in progress at their present institution to the Division Operations Coordinator for the division in which the course is offered for consideration and approval to register for the class. Please see the Academic Divisions page for contact information.
If permission to register for the course is granted, students must submit official copies of transcripts with updated course information upon successful completion of the course. If updated official transcripts are not provided two weeks before the commencement of classes, the course will be dropped.

Please keep in mind that official transcripts are required by Blinn College to complete a student’s enrollment. Students must request official transcripts from their prior universities be forwarded to Blinn College. To be considered for financial aid and/or scholarships, fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Comply with all testing requirements.
Unless a qualifying test score or proof of exemption is supplied, students must complete the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) Assessment. Blinn does not require the American College Test (ACT) or the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT).
Students who are not exempt may take the TSI Assessment at Blinn’s campuses in Brenham, Bryan, Schulenburg, or Sealy.
On-campus housing is only available at the Blinn College District’s Brenham Campus
Students attending classes at the Bryan, RELLIS, Schulenburg, and Sealy campuses have a range of off-campus living alternatives.

Attend Orientation and Advising
Advising
In order to select the best courses for their academic goals, prospective students should consult with an advisor. Students should have a current Blinn application, test results or exemptions, and high school or college transcripts or GED scores on file before meeting with an academic advisor. To make an appointment, go to Academic Advising.
NOTE: Before registering for classes, students who are not college ready (have not passed any part of the TSI Assessment), are on academic probation, or on scholastic suspension must speak with an advisor.
Orientation
All first-time Blinn students must complete the online New Student Orientation, which may be found under the Personal Information page in their myBLINN account.
New students who arrive in the Fall semester are urged to attend New Student Registration, where they can get advice and register for classes at the same time.
Register for Classes
You can register for classes at any Blinn College District site or online once you have completed your admissions file and cleared any registration holds. Find the classes that best fit your schedule and register online using your myBLINN account.
Pay
Students have a number of alternatives for securing payment for tuition and fees. Please study the options below and make sure to apply for payment before the payment deadline for the corresponding semester:
Online Payment
Log in to myBLINN and pay your tuition and fees in full online.
In-person Payment
Tuition and fees can be paid in person at Enrollment Services on the Brenham, Schulenburg, and Sealy campuses, as well as the Central Administrative Services Building at the Tejas Center in Bryan. A complete list of sites can be seen on the Admissions page.
Sending Money by Mail
Checks should be made payable to the Blinn College District for the right amount of tuition and fees, and the student’s ID number should be included on the check.
Payment Plans in Installments
Students can pay tuition and fees in full or in installments at Blinn, making education more accessible. Enroll in an installment payment plan for the Fall and Spring semester.
Payment Methods
In-person, students can pay with cash, credit or debit card, check, money order, or cashier’s check. There will be no temporary checks accepted. Students can only pay by mail with a check. Please do not send cash.

Obtain a Parking Permit
All students who park a vehicle on Blinn’s campuses in Brenham, Bryan, or Schulenburg must register their vehicle and acquire a parking permit. A parking permit is not required at the Sealy Campus.
Students can register their vehicles via the Parking Portal, which is accessible via myBLINN.
Those who do not have a parking permit will be ticketed.
Parking information, including how to get a parking permit through the Parking Portal, is available online. The Parking Portal is also accessible via myBLINN. Students can use the link to order a permit online and have it mailed to them.
Students taking classes at the RELLIS Campus must get a parking permit from Texas A&M Transportation Services. Parking permits issued by Blinn are not valid on the RELLIS Campus.
Grade Point Average (GPA)
At MyBlinn College, grades are assigned on a four-point scale. A grade of A has four grade points for each semester hour; a grade of B has three grade points; a grade of C has two grade points; a grade of D has one grade point.
The maximum grade point score is 4.00, which corresponds to an A average. The grade point average is calculated by dividing the total number of grade points obtained by the total number of attempted hours. The GPA is computed using all grades except I, WP, W, P, and NP.

Is Blinn College open to everyone?
All students are welcome at Blinn, which has an open admissions policy. If you have never taken a course at Blinn, apply today through the ApplyTexas website. After completing your admissions file, you will be able to register for credit classes at all Blinn College District locations as well as online.
Is Blinn College affiliated with Texas A&M?
Texas A&M University and the Blinn College District collaborate on the Texas A&M-Blinn TEAM Program, which is a co-enrollment relationship.
TEAM students are chosen by Texas A&M University during the freshman admissions process. Selected students will then enroll at both Blinn and Texas A&M.
TEAM students attend one or two academic courses at Texas A&M each semester and the rest of their classes at Blinn College. TEAM first-year students will take Blinn classes at the RELLIS Campus. Please go here to view the complete terms and conditions for the Blinn TEAM program.
TEAM students benefit from enrollment at both institutions, taking advantage of the university experience provided by Texas A&M (such as residence hall life, sports events, and a wide range of student activities) while also taking advantage of the smaller classroom environments and lower costs provided by Blinn. TEAM student achievement is facilitated by academic advisers, instructors, and staff at both institutions.
Students who do not transition through the aforementioned channels do not instantly matriculate at A&M, but may be eligible for future admission through the university’s readmission process (subject to current readmission criteria).
How can I find out what my Blinn ID number is?
By completing these steps, you should be able to locate your Blinn ID number:
Log in to My Blinn (http://my.blinn.edu) first.
Then, select the “My Schedule” icon.
Look at the upper right-hand corner on the Schedule page. You should be able to see your Blinn ID number as well as your name. Your ID will be in the format B00XXXXXX, with your name following.
What is the minimum GPA required for admission to Blinn?
A student must maintain a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.0 in order to achieve and remain in good academic standing at Blinn College (C). The minimum requirement for graduation is a 2.0 cumulative grade point average.
Is the SAT required for Blinn?
Blinn does not require the ACT or SAT Tests as part of the admissions process. The ACT is exclusively available at the Brenham Campus.
