Xbox Series X

The Xbox Series X is regarded as the “fastest and most powerful system ever,” as seen by its specifications when compared to the PlayStation 5. In terms of specifications, it slightly outperforms the PlayStation 5.
We have specifics on the Xbox Series X price in Nigeria, as well as comprehensive performance specs, backward compatibility, accessories, and upcoming games for the holiday season.

The Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S (together, the Xbox Series X/S) are Microsoft’s home video game consoles. Both were released on November 10, 2020, as the Xbox console family’s fourth generation, following the Xbox One. The Xbox Series X and Series S are part of the ninth generation of video game consoles, which includes Sony’s PlayStation 5, which will be released in November 2020.

Epic films in clear 4k are best viewed on a 4k TV, but Xbox Series X takes it a step further with up to 8k HDR capabilities, ensuring you get the greatest image quality possible. For a mind-blowing home cinema experience, pair your Xbox Series X with an 8k TV.

Specifications for performance
Performance of Xbox Series X vs PS5
The Xbox Series X has an eight-core Custom “Zen 2” CPU that runs at 3.8GHz. This aids in the activation of the ‘Fast Resume’ function, which allows players to resume multiple games from a suspended state almost instantly.
The GPU is based on the Radeon RDNA 2 architecture and is modified. It boasts 12 teraflops of computational power. This makes it more than capable of native 4K 60fps gameplay. It also allows the system to reach 8K resolution and play games at 120 frames per second. This GPU also enables real-time ray-tracing, as seen on high-end Nvidia graphics cards.
On paper, the Xbox Series X specs appear to have a little advantage over the PS5. The Series X, for example, offers up to 12 teraflops of processing capability, while the PS5 has 10.3 teraflops.
The Series X’s 1 TB SSD is considerably larger than the 825 GB SSD found on the PS5. 16GB of GDDR6 RAM is among the other components.
If the 1 TB SSD storage isn’t enough, there’s an extendable storage port in the back that can add another 1 TB of storage. It also has USB 3.1 connectivity for an external HDD, which is useful for individuals who want to expand their storage.
Seagate’s 1TB Expandable Storage
The Xbox Series X external Storage expansion card is meant to fit into the Xbox Series X’s proprietary connector on the rear.
The proprietary connector appears to be utilized in order for the Xbox Series X expansion card speeds to match the internal SSD rates. This means that when playing games from the expansion card, there will be no performance changes.
Design
The Xbox Series X has a completely different design than its predecessors. It has the same tower design as a gaming PC. Series X, on the other hand, can be placed vertically or horizontally.
When sitting upright, the console is black with an indentation cooling vent at the top surface. Inside the cooling vents, there is a green hue light. There’s a little Xbox logo in the upper left corner of the console, with a 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray physical disc driveslot immediately below it.
Power connectors, two USB 3.2 ports, Ethernet LAN, and one HDMI 2.1 output are all found on the back of the Xbox Series X. For the optional proprietary SSD card, there is also a “storage expansion.” The console weighs 4.45kg and is 15.1 cm x 15.1 cm x 30.1 cm.
User experience with Xbox Series X
The Xbox Series X OS will include the same as the Xbox One S and Xbox One X, but the Xbox Series X interface will have design upgrades, new fluent concepts, new typefaces, and other features that will also be available for the Xbox One S and Xbox One X.
Xbox Series X Accessories and Controller
For the Xbox Series X, a somewhat upgraded version of the current-gen Xbox Wireless Controller will be available. The D-pad has been improved, and a separate Sharing button for screenshots and video capture has been added. To aid in a better grip, textured dots have been added to the bumpers. One advantage of this new controller is that it contains a USB-C port, allowing you to charge while playing. The new controller will work on both Windows PCs and mobile phones (Both Android and iOS). It costs between N25,000 and N35,000 ($59.99).
Official Xbox Series X accessories include a $25 rechargeable battery and USB-C port, which may be purchased at Xbox online retail stores.
All of your current Xbox One accessories will work with the Xbox Series X, according to Microsoft.
When I buy a next-generation console, what do I get in the box? An Ultra High-Speed HDMI cable, an Xbox controller, and, of course, the console are included.
Backward Compatibility
The Xbox Series X is backward compatible with all games from the previous three Xbox console generations, and the games may even run smoother thanks to the Xbox Series X’s improved performance. All you have to do is put your Xbox One games on an external hard drive and plug it into the Xbox Series X to play them right away.
Microsoft has not stated whether or not the original Xbox and Xbox 360 games are backward compatible, but it is quite likely that the Xbox Series X will be able to play both original Xbox and Xbox 360 games that are already backwards compatible on Xbox One.

Microsoft’s latest consoles are flying off the shelves for a reason. Buying advice and information for the Xbox Series X
There are additional ways to improve your chances of getting an Xbox Series X besides refreshing shop websites. We tested a hidden Amazon trick that allowed us to successfully add an Xbox Series X to our shopping basket four times.
With that in mind, take a look at the new Xbox Series X.
Additionally, you can check other internet channels to see when a unit becomes available.
We recommend following @Wario64 on Twitter. The account is notable for being the first to notify users of new bargains and restocks on the platform.
Forums for shopping
The online sale site Slickdeals has a discussion post (opens in new tab) dedicated to ordering an Xbox Series X from Microsoft. The thread is continually updated, so go to the last page and refresh to get the most up-to-date information on when units will be available.
PopFindr
PopFindr (new tab) is a website that searches local retail inventory depending on your zip code.
You can, for example, check local Target stores to see if any Xbox Series X consoles are available. Please keep in mind that just because something appears to be in stock on the website does not mean it will be available when you get at the shop.
Making an account on Slickdeals and setting a deal alert for “Xbox Series X” is also a good idea. When a new discussion concerning restocked stock is started, you’ll get an email notification. However, we’ve discovered that Slickdeals doesn’t always email subscribers quickly enough. So, instead of typing “Xbox Series X” into the search window, sort by new. Be prepared to check in several times per day.
CheapAssGamer is another long-running video game sales website that features a forum topic dedicated to the Xbox Series X (opens in new tab). The topic is nearly 63 pages old as of this writing, and users are discussing where to find units.
Reddit and Facebook
Facebook can also be an excellent source of information. Multiple Xbox Series X fan clubs keep consumers informed about where the latest restocks are taking place. Feel free to join a handful of these groups (opens in new tab).
Also, make sure to follow the Xbox Series X subreddit (opens in new tab). Although the majority of the website is devoted to conversations and memes, if a member finds a resupply, they will inform the community.
One user, for example, discovered Xbox Series X devices in stock at their local Walmart (opens in new tab), while others shared similar experiences. It appears that some Walmart shops are stocking up on units for Cyber Monday.
Wholesalers and distributors
Subscription-based wholesalers such as Costco, Sam’s Club, and BJ’s Wholesale Club are another group of retailers to keep an eye on. Because getting access to these wholesalers needs a paid account, there are frequently fewer people competing for a unit. Ask a few friends or family members whether they have a subscription to any of these retailers.
Unfortunately, distributors frequently include extra games or accessories with new systems.
As a result, you’ll almost certainly have to spend more than the customary $500.
At specified times, Check
Retailers prefer to have stock available at specific hours. On some days, new Xbox Series X stock is most likely to become available at midnight ET. Check out all of the stores and you could get fortunate.
Others prefer early morning hours, such as 7 a.m. ET, while others aim for midday to give everyone the best opportunity of finding a new Xbox Series X system.
- Xbox Series X | Xbox Series S at Costco (in and out of stock)
- Xbox Series X (opens in new tab) at Sam’s Club (out of stock)
- BJ’s Wholesale Club: Xbox Series X | Xbox Series S (opens in new tab) (opens in new tab) (available and unavailable)
It can be worth travelling to a physical place if the units are out of stock online. You must bring your membership card or accompany someone who does. If you don’t wear a face mask (one that covers your nose), you’ll be asked to leave. If none are available in the store, you can at least leave with a $5 rotisserie chicken.
Deals on Xbox Series X
Unfortunately, there are currently no Xbox Series X deals to report on.
Because demand for Microsoft’s console is so strong — and supply is so scarce — merchants have little reason to provide Xbox Series X discounts. When Xbox Series X bargains do appear, we expect them to be in the form of bundles and freebies rather than straight cash reductions.
Deals on Xbox Series X games and accessories are, nonetheless, feasible. Xbox controllers and peripherals are routinely on sale on Amazon, while several games are frequently on sale at Best Buy.
- Amazon has all of the Xbox Series X accessory bargains (opens in new tab)
- Amazon has all Xbox Series X video game offers (opens in new tab)
Avoid scalpers during the Xbox Series X Restock
One of the reasons for Xbox Series X and Series S stock shortages is scalpers buying up significant quantities of next-gen systems in one go and then selling them for ridiculously high rates; we’re talking hundreds of dollars for a $499 games machine.
According to VGC, a now-famous PS5 scalper organization known as CrepChiefNotify was able to buy 1,000 Xbox Series X machines as soon as they became available at UK shop Very. However, in an ironic twist of fate, Very cancelled 1,000 Xbox Series X pre-orders, effectively thwarting the scalpers’ attempts.
We recommend avoiding buying an Xbox Series X or Series S from these scalpers, as irritating as it may be to find one. We don’t think it’s a good idea to pay a lot of money for a console that doesn’t have a lot of new Xbox Series X titles. If you can wait it out, Microsoft should have more Xbox Series X units on the way, as well as additional exclusive Xbox titles.
Note on Restocks of the Xbox Series X
Restocking of the Xbox Series X is extremely difficult to predict. Despite our best attempts to provide updated information, Tom’s Guide cannot guarantee that you will be able to buy an Xbox.
Nonetheless, we are dedicated to providing you with the most up-to-date information on all restocks as soon as they occur.
Xbox One X vs. PlayStation 5
The Xbox Series X and PS5 seem significantly different from each other in terms of design. They’re unlike anything else, as you can see in the image above, which shows both consoles beside the tiny Xbox Series S.
Xbox Game Pass Ultimate includes Cloud Gaming. It’s included in the monthly Game Pass Ultimate subscription and lets you play over 100 Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S titles on your mobile device.
PS Now, Sony’s own cloud gaming service, is supported by the PlayStation 5, however it is not as complete as Xbox’s offering and is only available on PlayStation consoles and through a PC app.
